When this Girl booked in to have my tax done last week,
SBA Collins failed to mention they had moved offices. Tracking them down to the new
location in Murray Street, I walked by a very stylish graphic attached to the
newest offering of the Hadley’s Hotel chain.

It could be Hobart’s newest place to eat.
Needless to say it is decked out in charcoal as
opposed to that being the descriptor for the menu.

So the Two Girls made a Friday lunch date, on their
second day open, and this is what we found out.
It has got a great vibe. It is very inner-city stylish. It has
a bar table along the window where you can watch the world go by on Collins
Street.
It is a tapas and woodfired pizza restaurant.
It is a great place for lunch and it would rock on a
Friday night for an after work tapas and wine event when you were feeling all hipster and city-like.
It was half full for its second lunch sitting which is
pretty good.
It is an upstairs venue so be brave, leave the
street, and climb the stairs.
Maybe tapas and woodfired pizza is over-exposed but this menu is trying hard to take it to a different level. There is a page dedicated to tapas and a page to pizza and it is finished off with a
handful of sweet options.
The Two Girls like a glass of bubbles, errr…a
bottle of bubbles, and there are four or five to choose from, but the stand out item, for at
least one of the Two Girls, was that there are two bottles of blush – Jansz Rose and Taltarni Brut Tache. We went for the Brut Tache because it is a
delightful drop.
We also decided on the woodfired pizzas because we
were a bit hung over from Clover Hill consumption the night prior.
Here’s the verdict.
Good light bases, not overly
dressed. No one likes an ostentatious pizza.
We chose the margarita with crispy basil and cherry
tomatoes and the meat lovers, All Time BBQ. They were both great, although the Two Girls can live without the lardons.
The service is great and we were particularly impressed
by the very amiable Leis, maitre de, who is warm, welcoming and
accommodating.
Everything is pretty cute...even the the toilet signage.
We say go check it out. New Hobart dining should
be supported.
