#EatDrinkHobart - A Wee Tipple

A Wee Tipple
The Two Girls love these four local venues for their atmosphere and individuality.  Simply great places to wind down after a long day at work or kick your night off with a pre-dinner drink.

Perfect for pre-or post-dinner drinks or a lazy afternoon session, Willing Bros has a balanced wine list: Tasmanian, Australian and European. Partake in some tasteful tapas: braised pork jowls, line caught spikey Dory, beetroot and gin cured ocean trout.

In a city that isn’t over-shadowed by tall buildings, the Alabama Hotel has the only balcony. An affordable, boutique hotel they also offer a funky bar with a modest selection of beers and ciders and a handful of wines and spirits, with a miniature menu of plates made on site. The right place for a quiet drink amongst Hobart’s alternos and some groovy tourists.

A laid back alternative to the Salamanca hubbub. Astroturf, picnic tables and a scattering of pre-loved seating furnish the large beer garden. There’s gas heating if you’re cold or a decommissioned Metro bus to play in. Preachers showcases boutique beer and cider and it’s groovy to boot. The bar snacks will line the tummy when you’re in need.

An alternative to drinks at Salamanca. On a Friday night Pumphouse is pumped. It might be a giant shed but it is a popular place with plenty of capacity, laid out in precincts, with lots of energy and great staff. Boutique beers, ciders, great cocktails and a solid wine list.
Menu is worth perusing; snacks, small plates and plates to share.
